PPPoE SETUP INSTRUCTIONS

DIRECT TO COMPUTER

INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR PPPoE SETUP WHEN ETHERNET CABLE CONNECTS FROM THE WALL JACK, OR FROM YOUR ADSL/VDSL MODEM TO YOUR COMPUTER DIRECTLY

Windows 7 + 8

Create a PPPoE connection to the Internet The Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Internet connection.

  1. Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, clicking Set up a connection or network, and then clicking Connect to the Internet.
  2. On the How do you want to connect? page, select Broadband (PPPoE).
  3. Continue to follow the steps in the wizard.
  4. Use PPPoE username and password provide on your confirmation email.

Windows Vista

Create a PPPoE connection to the Internet The Connect to the Internet wizard will guide you through the steps of setting up a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) Internet connection.

  1. Open the Connect to the Internet wizard by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, clicking Network and Sharing Center, clicking Set up a connection or network, and then clicking Connect to the Internet.
  2. On the How do you want to connect? page, select Broadband (PPPoE).
  3. Continue to follow the steps in the wizard.
  4. Use PPPoE username and password provide on your confirmation email.

Windows XP

To create a PPPoE client connection, follow these steps:

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Network and Internet Connection
  2. Click Network Connections, and then click Create a new connection in the Network Tasks pane.
  3. After the Network Connection Wizard starts, click Next.
  4. Click Connect to the Internet, and then click Next.
  5. Click Set up my connection manually, and then click Next.
  6. Click either Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user name and password or Connect using a broadband connection that is always on.
  7. Use PPPoE username and password provide on your confirmation email.
  8. Click Finish to complete the wizard

Mac OS X v10.5 or earlier

  1. Click on Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. View menu, click on Network.
  3. Choose Built-in Ethernet from the Show pop-up menu (the “Configure” popup menu prior to OS X 10.1).
  4. Click the PPPoE tab. Select the checkbox for “Connect using PPPoE.”
  5. Use PPPoE username and password provide on your confirmation email.
  6. Leave Service Name Blank
  7. Click PPPoE Options and select the Connect automatically when needed.

Mac v10.6 and later

  1. Click the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
  2. Click on Network., Unlock the pane (if needed).
  3. Click the “+” button in the bottom left corner to add a new interface. Choose “PPPoE” as the Interface, and make sure “Ethernet” is selected in the “Ethernet” menu. Click Create. (ok to use the PPPoE name)
  4. Use PPPoE username and password provide on your confirmation email.
  5. Leave Service Name Blank 6. click PPPoE Options and select the Connect automatically when needed.

DIRECT TO WIRELESS ROUTER

INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR PPPoE SETUP WHEN ETHERNET CABLE CONNECTS FROM THE WALL JACK, OR FROM YOUR ADSL/VDSL MODEM TO YOUR ROUTER ON THE WAN PORT, AND YOUR COMPUTER IS CONNECTED TO ONE OF THE LAN PORT VIA ANOTHER ETHERNET CABLE.
* Web Interface may vary with different make and model, please contact our support if you need further assistant with PPPoE setup for your router.

Belkin Wilreless Routers

  1. Open up a web browser (Firefox, IE,Safari, or Chrome) n the address window type http://192.168.2.1
  2. The Belkin Main menu will appear. ON the left Side click on the connection type. It will come up with a User password box. Leave the password field blank and hit submit (unless you changed the main pw, then use that).
  3. You will see WAN connection Type. Click next to The PPPoE and hit the next button.
  4. The PPPoE screen will appear. Enter the Username And Password you were provided with. Please leave Service name BLANK, and all other options are good on the default Functions, such as DHCP, ect.
  5. Submit changes. You should now be connected to the Internet.

Dlink Wireless routers

  1. Open up a web browser (Firefox, IE,Safari, or Chrome) In the address window type http://192.168.0.1
  2. You should have a User Password box appear. The default for most Dlink routers is to type admin for the username and leave the password blank.
  3. You should see the D-link connection page. Click on Setup. next click on Manual Internet Connection setup
  4. For Internet connection type, change the drop down box To PPPoE.
  5. Enter your Account Name provided, with the password and click save settings. You should now be connected to the Internet.

Netgear Wireless Routers

  1. Open up a web browser (Firefox, IE,Safari, or Chrome) In the address window type http://192.168.0.1 Or http://192.168.1.1
  2. You should have a User Password box appear. The default username is admin and the default Password is password (it is case sensitive)
  3. You will now see the Netgear page
  4. On the left hand side click basic settings
  5. First question, does your internet connection Require a login, answer yes
  6. For Internet service provider in the drop down box Choose PPPoE. IF you do not have this option, then choose other. 
  7. Enter your Account name provided and your password provided.
  8. Leave Service Name blank
  9. Apply/save changes, You should now be connected to the Intenet.

Linksys/Cisco Wireless routers

  1. Open up a web browser (Firefox, IE,Safari, or Chrome) In the address window type http://192.168.1.1
  2. You should have a User Password box appear.
  3. The default User name and password for Linksys Leave the username blank and enter admin for the password. If this doesn’t work, use admin for the username with no password. IF this doesn’t work try admin for username and admin for passwordl. (if this doesn’t work, use the password you changed the router to or Reset it to defaults)
  4. You will see the Linksys router page appear the first option on internet setup is internet Connection type
  5. Change the Internet connection type to PPPoE
  6. Enter your account name and password. Leave the service name Blank.
  7. Apply and save your changes, you should now be connected to the Internet.
